Who we are
Every child deserves a safe, nurturing place to begin.
In South Africa's most under-resourced areas, many Early Childhood Development (ECD) centres struggle with chronic underfunding, outdated infrastructure and a lack of regulatory support.
These challenges affect the quality of care and limit the safe, nurturing environment every child deserves. We exist to change that, centre by centre.

The challenge
Many ECD centres are left to cope alone.
Centres in informal settlements and overpopulated areas often lack adequate funding, infrastructure and oversight. The children in their care pay the price.

We close the gaps facing ECD centres in informal settlements and overpopulated areas, where funding, infrastructure and oversight fall short.
Early Childhood Development centres are where many of South Africa's youngest children spend their days. Yet in the country's most under-resourced areas, these centres face chronic underfunding, outdated infrastructure and little regulatory support.
Hope Foundation SA works to change that. We equip the people who run these centres, advocate for better standards, and bring partners together around one goal: a safe, healthy start for every child.
